When you’re growing a media business, you need to know how much you’ve got to bring in to cover yourself, your team and your expenses.
Use this Revenue Projections calculator to figure out where all the money will come from.
I walk you through each revenue stream and then make projections for Jan-Dec based on your estimates.
You can then decide whether you want to raise prices, add new revenue streams or cut any revenue streams.
Try it out and report back how it works for you!

Calculate your revenue
The Revenue Projections calculator will help you figure out how many revenue streams you need and how much they’re likely to bring in. You can play forward different scenarios to see how to make up the pie you need every month.
Grab the calculator (file→make a copy) and then finish reading these instructions.
🧮 First, add your target and your revenue streams
- Start on Tab 1 of the calculator.
- Follow the prompts in the calculator (only change the white fields!)
- You’ll end up with a set of estimates BY revenue stream and by month

You can try different scenarios here, but I would copy the WHOLE workbook because of all the formulas on Tabs 2 and 3.
Not sure how to estimate these revenue streams, check out my revenue stream guide for some ideas and reach out to me! Let’s chat about your scenario.
📈 Then, check out the projections!
- Head over to Tab 2.
- These are your revenue projections. No editing necessary! They are fully calculated by what you plugged into Tab 1.
- You can easily see if you need to add (or could cut) revenue streams.

🎁 Bonus: pie chart view!
- Head over to Tab 3 to see your revenue streams by how much of your total annual revenue they make up.
- This can give you a quick sense of how diversified your revenue is, but other than that, it’s just a fun way to look at and doesn’t have much actual utility.
